Note: Narrative ceremonial dance cycles practiced by the inhabitants of the eastern Kimberleys region of Australia. The narrative dance is based on the cyclone and serves as a way of explaining such events to the general population. Painted boards and threaded crosses are carried behind the dancers head while performing. The type of material utilized for the dances changes depending of the context of the story.

| Dutch ..... Verhalende ceremoniële danscycli die worden beoefend door de inwoners van het oostelijke deel van de regio Kimberley in Australië. De verhalende dans is gebaseerd op de cycloon en is een manier om dergelijke gebeurtenissen aan de rest van de bevolking uit te leggen. Beschilderde platen en gevlochten kruisen worden tijdens de voorstelling achter de hoofden van de dansers gedragen. Het type materiaal dat voor de dansen wordt gebruikt, hangt samen met de context van het verhaal. |
| Spanish ..... Son ciclos de danzas narrativas ceremoniales realizadas por los habitantes de la región del este de Kimberleys en Australia. La danza narrativa es basada en el ciclón y sirve como manera de explicar tales acontecimientos a la población en general. Llevan carteles pintados y cruces roscadas detrás de los bailarines mientras se realiza. Los materiales utilizados para las danzas cambian dependiendo del contexto de la historia. |
