Note: Double- or single-breasted three-quarter length or full-length fitted overcoats with flared skirts, sometimes open in the front to reveal garments underneath, usually with large collars and lapels; worn especially by men and women during the 18th and 19th centuries, originally made with short shoulder cape. For dresses open in front to show an underskirt or with a front gore of contrasting material, use "redingote (dresses)." |

Dutch ..... Double-or single-breasted, driekwart- of enkellange nauwsluitende overjassen met wijde rokken, soms open aan de voorkant om de kleding eronder te tonen en meestal met grote kragen en revers. Ze werden vooral gedragen in de 18e en 19e eeuw door mannen en vrouwen. Oorspronkelijk gemaakt met een korte schoudercape. |
German ..... Doppel- oder einreihiger dreiviertel-langer oder langer Mantel mit ausgestelltem Rock, manchmal auf der Vorderseite offen, um Kleidungsstücke darunter zu enthüllen, in der Regel mit großem Kragen und Revers; vor allem von Männern und Frauen im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert getragen, ursprünglich mit kurzen Schultercape. Für Kleider, die an der Vorderseite offen sind, um einen Unterrock zu zeigen oder mit einer Gere aus kontrastierendem Material, wird "Redingote (Kleid)" verwendet. |
Spanish ..... Abrigo simple o de doble pecho, enterizo o de tres cuartos, con faldas con vuelo; a veces abierto en la parte delantera para dejar ver una prenda debajo de él, generalmente, con cuellos grandes y solapas; era utilizada en especial por los hombres y mujeres durante los siglos XVIII y XIX, originalmente realizado con una capa corta para los hombros. |
