Note: Thin, flat-hanging curtains fitted against the glass of a window or door, or immediately over a shade, and usually kept drawn over the glass to soften the light and give privacy. For thin, often sheer curtains used under the main curtains to soften light, use "undercurtains." For curtains made of any transparent or very lightweight material, often plain white and often used as undercurtains, use "sheer curtains."

Additional Notes:
Chinese (traditional) ..... 掛在門窗玻璃或百葉窗上的平坦薄簾,通常會處於拉起的狀態,讓光線較不刺眼以及保持隱密性。掛在主簾幕內讓光線較柔和的紗簾則稱為「內層簾幕」。任何以透明或輕盈材質做成、通常是純白色且作為內層的簾幕,則稱為「紗簾」。 
Dutch ..... Dunne, ongeplooide gordijnen die vlak tegen het glas van een raam of een deur hangen of direct boven een scherm en meestal dicht blijven zodat het licht wordt gedempt en het binnenkijken wordt bemoeilijkt. Gebruik 'ondergordijnen' voor dunne gordijnen die onder de hoofdgordijnen worden gebruikt om zo het licht te dempen. Gebruik 'vitragegordijnen' voor de gordijnen die vaak als ondergordijnen dienen en worden gemaakt van doorzichtig, zeer lichtgewicht materiaal, vaak effen wit. 
Spanish ..... Cortinas colgantes delgadas y lisas ajustadas contra el vidrio de una ventana o puerta, o inmediatamente sobre una persiana, y que generalmente se mantienen descorridas sobre el vidrio para suavizar la luz y otorgar privacidad. Para cortinas delgadas y a menudo transparentes usadas bajo las cortinas principales para suavizar la luz, use "visillo”. Para cortinas hechas de cualquier material transparente o muy delgado, muchas veces de blanco liso y frecuentemente usado como cortinas de abajo, use ""visillo sencillo".
