|
Note: Soft, thin, unsized, fine-textured, highly absorbent paper of bamboo fiber originating in China, usually of a pale yellow color. It is typically used for steel engraving, woodcut proofs, and as lithographic transfer paper, because it absorbs ink without smearing. Although it is also called "Indian proof paper," it is distinct from "India paper," which is softer and looser in its fiber bond. |

Dutch ..... Zacht, fijn en meestal lichtgeel onbehandeld papier van bamboevezel, oorspronkelijk uit China. Het is zeer absorberend en wordt meestal gebruikt voor staalgravures, houtsneden en als lithografisch transferpapier. Het verschil met 'Indiapapier' is dat dit laatste zachter is en een lossere vezelstructuur heeft. Oorspronkelijk gemaakt voor de Oxford University Press, als imitatie van papier uit Oost-Azië. |
Spanish ..... Papel suave de fina textura sin tamaño fijo hecho con fibras de bambú, originariamente en China, casi siempre de color amarillo pálido. Altamente absorbente, se usa generalmente para pruebas de grabados en acero y madera y como papel litográfico de transferencia. Se distingue del "papel tipo biblia" por cuanto es más suave y más laxo en su fibra, originalmente fabricado para la Oxford University Press como imitación del papel proveniente de Asia Oriental. |
