Kurt Andersen

  • William Friedkin (director of The French Connection and the new Bug) and playwright Jon Robin Baitz (creator of ABC's Brothers and Sisters) talk about how they got started in entertainment.
  • Playwright and actress Iris Bahr, whose solo show Planet America was nominated for Best Solo Performance by L.A. Weekly, and whose new play Dai (Enough) was a huge off-Broadway success in New York, performs new material crafted just for Studio 360.
  • Hitmaker Alexandra Patsavas explains how she finds unknown gems as music supervisor for programs like Grey's Anatomy, and shares some of what's kicking around her iPod.
  • East L.A. contenders Quetzal show how they're pushing the boundaries of Chicano rock to a new level of cool.

About PRI's Studio 360
Studio 360, a coproduction of Public Radio International and WNYC, is the only nationally broadcast radio program on arts and culture.

Iris Bahr

Where else can a Freudian shrink analyze a videogame about bunnies, a home improvement guru rhapsodize about sheetrock, and a surfer deliver the entire plot of Moby-Dick in two minutes flat?

Host Kurt Andersen is a novelist (his book Heyday was published this year to acclaim) and journalist who founded the legendary magazine Spy. Andersen is also a columnist for New York magazine.
