Ancient Egyptian mummies have long fascinated scholars and laymen alike. Who were these ancient men and women, so meticulously preserved for the afterlife? How did they die, and what did they look like in life?

Discover the mummies' secrets from Dr. David Mininberg, a medical doctor and Egyptologist who has used medical imaging technology to study 13 mummies at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Mininberg will discuss what CAT scans have revealed about these mummies, as well as the Getty Museum's own spectacular Mummy of Herakleides, which was recently imaged at UCLA.

The lecture is free and accessible to both specialists and the general public.
