About Falak
Falak, which means "heaven," "fortune," and "universe," is one of the most important musical genres in Tajikistan. Full of lament and hope, falak draws on Persian folk and mystical poetry, focusing on themes of spirituality, love, and pain.

In Tajikistan, falak accompanies a wide range of activities, from religious ceremonies and rituals of mourning to celebrations and private prayer.

About Rustam Duloev
Rustam Duloev was born in Dahana, a village (kolkhoz) in the Kulob region of Tajikistan. He learned the art of falak singing from his father, who came from the mountain valley of Dashtijum, one of the birthplaces of falak.

Rustam studied and worked as an opera singer in Dushanbe before moving to Italy in the mid-1990s. He received a degree in canto lirico from the Accademia di Osimo in Ancona, Italy, and currently performs in major venues throughout Italy, France, and Germany. His dual musical activity is unique.
