Service Animals
Service animals, such as guide dogs for the blind, are welcome at the Center. Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed.
Seating and Resting Areas
Indoor and outdoor seating is offered throughout the site, including at the:
- Lower Tram Station
- Upper Tram Station
- Museum Entrance Hall
- Museum Courtyard
- Central Garden
- Museum Gallery Pavilions
- Family Restroom in the Museum's South Pavilion
Accessible Parking
Accessible parking spaces are located on the entry level of the Main Parking Structure. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visual Descriptions Audio Tour
Available on the free GettyGuide app, a visual descriptions audio tour offers detailed descriptions of selected works on display at the Center.
Indoor Lighting
Lighting may be dimmed in galleries that contain photographs, manuscripts, and drawings to protect the art.
For Visitors Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
ASL Interpretation
To request ASL interpretation, please email visitor services with your name and arrival date and time. It is recommended to submit the request at least 2 weeks in advance.
Assistive Listening Devices
Free assistive listening devices (ALDs) are available for all tours and for the Orientation Theater. Each ALD has an ear piece and a clip that can be attached to clothing.
Induction Neck Loops
Free induction neck loops, which work with hearing aids that have a T-coil switch, are available free of charge at most event venues.
Infrared Sound Enhancement
The Harold M. Williams Auditorium and the Museum Lecture Hall are equipped with infrared sound enhancement systems.
Open Captioning
Open captioning in English is provided in the orientation film shown in the Orientation Theater in the Museum Entrance Hall.

For Visitors Using Mobility Aids
Tram
A computer-operated tram from the parking structure to the top of the hill is accessible for visitors using wheelchairs. If using a wheelchair, please board in an end car. To reach the tram, take the elevator in the parking structure up to level T1. The tram station is approximately 20 level feet from the elevator doors.
Standard Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available for free rental on a first-come, first-served basis at the Lower Tram Station above the parking structure and at the Coat Check Room in the Museum Entrance Hall.
Wheelchair Seating
Front- and rear-row seating for people using wheelchairs is available in the Harold M. Williams Auditorium and the Museum Lecture Hall. Please arrive early to reach this area before a program begins. Visitor Services staff will be available to assist you.
Accessible Facilities
All public restrooms have accessible facilities.
A family restroom, located in the Museum’s South Pavilion, includes private facilities for assisting a companion.
Elevators
Elevators are available throughout the site, including:
- In the Parking Structure
- From the Tram Arrival Plaza to the Museum Plaza level (approximately 60 level feet from the Museum Entrance Hall)
- From the Museum Entrance Hall to the second floor of the North Pavilion
- From the Museum Courtyard to the Central Garden and the Exhibitions Pavilion
- In the Museum Pavilions
