Permission Required to Go Onsite

A reminder that people need permission to go on campus, with a message to security through their department administrator. Campus visits must be scheduled between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and only if it is essential.

Teleworking: Courses Address New Routines, New Challenges

There's online content to guide us in a new way of working. For tips on time management, professional video conferencing, cloud-based collaboration skills, and more, see the LinkedIn Learning courses on the attached Online Training PDF. And note that in response to these challenging times, the attached LinkedIn Learning playlist does not require you to create a user account to access it.

Library Resources

The Library's Article and Subscription Databases: A-Z List are available to staff working off-site from non-Getty and Getty devices. To access all subscription databases log into Webconnect, then click on "Subscription Databases" in the Webconnect menu. Be sure that you see "Webconnect" in your web browser url address and then proceed by clicking on your desired resource. Additionally, you can access a selection of databases by logging in directly on the database website with your GettyOneID. See the attached Shibboleth Offsite Access pdf for the selected databases and instructions.

Rideshare Points

Staff are not eligible for rideshare points for working from home during this time, and the process for logging them has been disabled on Employee Self Service. Getty will reinstate this benefit once we resume a normal onsite work schedule.

Candu Graphics Can Do!

(Sorry. Couldn't resist.) Candu has limited staff onsite at the Getty, but they are continuing to run jobs at their production facility and will ship and deliver printing as well. You can reach them at 310.822.1620.

This article in the LA Times offers some good resources for the 5 and under set. Do you have other tips to share or questions to ask about working at home with kids? Share it on the new Slack channel: #workingathomewithkids.

Stressful Times

Parenting or not, this is a difficult time. Here are some tips from Stanford on coping with anxiety.

Grantmaking Update

The Foundation sent a message to all of its current grantees via email and social media that grantmaking activities will continue as staff work remotely. They wanted to let grantees across the globe know that Getty understands the challenges they are facing in these uncertain times. Many grant projects may be delayed, suspended, or canceled, and the Foundation wanted to assure them of its support and to offer advice and assistance as they adjust and adapt.

No Friday Email

Unless something comes up, we are not planning to send a Friday email. We'll be in touch with Getty THIS WEEK on Monday morning.

Stay well! Remember that new information will be posted on getty.edu/staff. Continue to address any questions to internalcommunications@getty.edu or call or email Human Resources at 310.440.6523 or hr@getty.edu if you have unique issues with which you need help.
