WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Parking Updates

As more staff return to work onsite, the following parking procedures for staff, volunteers, and docents have been updated. Please see the attached document for updated shuttle and tram hours.

  • Access to Getty Center/Getty Villa As of June 1, staff and contractors no longer need to have the green Phase 3 parking placard, or be on the daily access list to gain access to the Center or the Villa for work. Staff and contractors will be admitted as long as they have their Getty parking hangtag and ID badge. Staff who are not already scheduled to be onsite on a regular basis should check with their program or department before arriving onsite to work.
  • TOH Parking Over the past 15 months, we have been able to open TOH parking to all of the staff and contractors who were coming to the Getty Center; however, more people are returning back onsite and we are starting to occasionally reach our maximum capacity at TOH. We expect that on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, all employees and contractors will have access to TOH parking. On Monday through Thursday, we may reach our maximum capacity, and some arrivals with orange hangtags will need to park in NEP parking. We will continue to maximize TOH parking on a first-come, first-serve basis for everyone who works at the Center, but when spaces begin to fill up, vehicles with orange hangtags will be directed to NEP.
  • California State-Issued Disability Parking Placards Any staff member with an unexpired California DMV-issued permanent or temporary disability parking placard will be permitted to park in TOH. They may use the accessible parking spaces, or, if none are available, may park in any other non-reserved parking space in TOH Parking.
  • North Entry Parking (NEP) Parking Previously, staff was instructed to park below level P3. This policy has now changed and staff are permitted to park on any level of NEP.

The NEP Mezzanine Parking area was previously reserved for volunteers/docents. Many of these spaces have been converted to EV or ADA parking and this area will no longer be reserved for volunteers/docents. Staff, docents, and volunteers can park at any level of NEP.

Reminder: COVID-19 Tests and Vaccine Verification

As of last Monday, appointments will not be scheduled for COVID tests. However, any employee, scholar, intern, contract employee, docent, or volunteer who is not fully vaccinated must continue to get tested for COVID-19 on a weekly basis (you are fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving your final dose of the vaccine—whether single or two-dose). If you are fully vaccinated, you are encouraged to provide verification following the instructions in the attached documents (in English and Spanish).

Acceptable vaccine verification documents or images include CDC vaccination card, a clear photo of the CDC vaccination card, or an electronic health pass. Whichever form you choose to use must show your full name, date(s) and type of vaccine received. Documentation must be clear and legible.

Both COVID-19 testing and vaccine verification will be held on a drop-in basis during the hours listed for each Getty site. As there will not be scheduled appointments, please be patient if there is a line. Vaccine verification will continue to be available after June. A process and schedule for vaccine verification after June will be announced by the end of this month.

RingCentral Phone Service Rollout

Getty’s Telecomm has completed installing RingCentral VoIP phone services at the Villa, South Building, and Valencia locations and have started at the Getty Center—beginning with the GRI. You will be notified via email when the installation will begin in your area. To learn more about RingCentral phone and message services on your Getty computer and any smartphone or tablet (iOS/Android), visit the RingCentral page on Getty GO or view the demonstration video.

It’s Time to Upgrade to Office 365

Microsoft is ending support for older versions and they will no longer receive security updates. Office 365 includes OneDrive, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and offers the same productivity capabilities you are used to, plus enhanced collaboration and cloud features.

COVID-19 Vaccine Education Sessions

Thank you to those of you who attended the two COVID-19 vaccine education sessions offered last week. The sessions were hosted by infectious disease specialist and Health Advocate medical director Dr. Jocelyn Sivalingham. If you were not able to attend and are interested in hearing Dr. Sivalingham’s presentation, you can watch a recording in English and in Spanish.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, ACCESSIBILITY, AND INCLUSION (DEAI)

Community Engagement Committee

This new committee has been formed to explore how Getty can create, expand, deepen, and sustain meaningful relationships with diverse communities locally and nationally. Over the course of a year, this working group will develop a roadmap and a set of recommendations for Getty senior leadership. With its intent to help advance Getty’s relationships with BIPOC and other diverse communities, this committee will address priorities identified in Goal #5 of Getty’s DEAI Plan. Senior leaders recognize that these objectives are ambitious and will take a long-term commitment to achieve.

The committee will be co-chaired by Naoko Takahatake, Curator of Prints and Drawings, GRI, and Greg Sandoval, Senior Public Programs Specialist, Museum. The committee members are: Rebecca Peabody, GRI; Ralph Flores, Museum; Kara Kirk, Getty Publications; Leslie Rainer, GCI; Jennifer de la Fuente, GRI; Tuan Vo, Security; Jodi Chang, Foundation; Stephanie Evans, Getty Digital; Patricia Rainwater, Finance and Accounting; Lauren Kingsley, President’s Office; Thuy Bui, Museum; and Sarah Sherman Clark, GRI. Joan Weinstein will serve as staff liaison.
