WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Staff Feedback on Work during the Pandemic

It has now been several months that Getty employees have been working under varying situations as a result of COVID-19. We are launching a survey to gather feedback about how your current work situation is functioning for you, whether you are working remotely or at our sites. We want to know whether you are feeling supported by Getty, whether you feel safe, and if you have the information you need in your current work circumstances. The survey will launch July 20 and remain open until July 27. Individuals who have Getty email will receive a personalized email and link to participate; staff without email will receive a letter with participation instructions. We plan to continue gathering information through similar surveys as we return to our worksites.

Food Service On Site

As more staff return to worksites, Bon Appetit will begin charging for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and hot meals will once again be available in addition to grab-and-go items. Staff lunches will be available for $6 and the menu will be posted to GettyGO every week. Coffee drinks will continue to be free.

The Future of Getty Logins

There’s a new way to connect to Getty from on- or off-site: Getty OneConnect. Log in with your Getty OneID and Duo authentication, and access key Getty applications like GO, Workforce and Employee Self Service. Getty OneConnect offers a better interface and functionality than WebConnect—GO links don’t break! You can still use Pulse Secure from a Getty computer to access Getty file servers, but OneConnect offers a better experience than WebConnect for accessing key Getty applications. The list of apps will grow as Getty Digital migrates them from WebConnect. See the attached document for more information and answers to FAQs.

Library e-Resources

As our Getty community continues to work from home, check out these new collections and databases that are available remotely for your use: Afro Americana Imprints; African American Newspapers, 1827–1998; African American Periodicals, 1825–1995; International Index of Black Periodicals; Museum Knowledge Platform/Wen bo hang ye zhi shi zi yuan ku; Newspapers.com; ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global; and Retronews, the official news site of the Bibliothèque nationale de France. Access to these e-resources is available from the Article and Subscription Databases: A-Z List when you are logged in through WebConnect or Getty OneConnect (with a non-Getty computer) or Pulse Secure/VPN (with a Getty computer). You can also find them listed on the “New Databases” page of the Getty Library @ Home Guide.

July Circulation Services and Curbside Pickup

Remember that staff and residential scholars may request up to 20 general library items to take home in July through curbside delivery and pickup service. Through July 14, enter your requests into the Library Catalog. Items will be isolated for three days in accordance with current recommendations for library materials handling within the cultural heritage community prior to the curbside service. You may then pick up your boxed library items, or return books that you have at home from the June pickup, at the curbside-only service at the Getty Center TOH shuttle turnaround by appointment between Tuesday, July 21, and Thursday, July 23. See the attached document for detailed instructions.

Identity Theft Protection and Credit Monitoring

My Secure Advantage (MSA) offers free identity theft protection and credit monitoring. Both MSA and Vanguard offer free live and recorded webinars on subjects like investing in volatile markets, retirement, and saving for a child’s education through a 529 plan. See the complete schedule on the Getty’s Financial Wellness page.

Getty/ACLS Fellows Hold Virtual Convening Next Week

The 2019–20 Getty/ACLS Postdoctoral Fellowship cohort will hold a virtual convening on Monday, July 13, and Tuesday, July 14, providing 10-15 minute presentations on their current research. The Getty/ACLS program funds non-residential fellowships to 10 early-career scholars each year from around the world; the fellows spend an academic year on research and/or writing related to a project that will make a substantial and original contribution to the understanding of art and its history. The program concludes with a week-long residency at Getty, and the Foundation and GRI have worked together to continue this element as a virtual experience. The 2021-2022 Getty/ACLS fellowship application will open later this month.
