WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Employee Well-Being

These have been challenging times and it’s important to take care of ourselves and each other. If you are struggling, would like to speak with someone, or you and your family need grief counseling, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to all benefits- eligible employees for confidential, short-term counseling services and resources at no cost, as well as referrals to providers covered by your Getty insurance. Contact Health Advocate, the Getty’s EAP partner, for more information, at 866-799-2728.

Aetna and UnitedHealthcare medical plans provide coverage for mental health care both virtually and in person.

Curative Lab COVID Tests

We have received questions from staff about this article in the LA Times concerning inaccurate results in COVID tests made by Curative. The lab that conducts tests on site at Getty does not use Curative tests.

Updated and Approved Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion Plan

Getty trustees approved the updated plan, attached, at their meeting yesterday and endorsed its next steps. The plan incorporates feedback provided by Getty staff and the DEI Council in open sessions last fall. Primary among the changes is the addition of accessibility goals and strategies throughout the plan, as suggested by staff. Also attached is a DEAI Progress Report, which will be provided to all Getty staff and Getty Trustees on a regular basis. Senior staff will discuss next steps in achieving our DEAI goals at tomorrow’s All-Staff Update.

Staff Feedback on COVID Safety and Vaccine

Last July, we solicited staff feedback regarding working during the pandemic. As things have progressed, we’d like to check back in. We are launching a survey to gather information about whether you are feeling safe, if you have the information you need, and your current perspectives on the vaccine. The survey will launch January 20 and remain open until January 27. A personalized email and link will be sent to everyone’s Getty email address, which will access the survey from any device.

Managing Unconscious Bias in the Workplace

Beginning January 13, and for several other dates in January and February, the JONES team will lead Zoom sessions on unconscious bias. The content is the same as those held in-person and via Zoom, over the past 18 months. If you would like to register, please use this Survey Monkey link to select your preferred dates. You will receive a confirmation and Outlook appointment from DEIworkshops@getty.edu for the session for which you are scheduled.

January Library Curbside Service Canceled

Due to increased COVID rates in LA County, the January 26–28 curbside service has been canceled. All requests for library items made after December 3 will be available at the next curbside service, with a date yet to be determined, in February.
