About
Goal
PhotoTech increases access to photographic archives at the Getty Research Institute (GRI) and assesses the value of computational methods to offer new ways of analyzing large image collections. The project uses technologies like computer vision and deep learning to advance collection cataloging and expand the use of digitized photo archives for art historical research. Of particular interest are investigations that look beyond the content of images and toward the art historical canon, institutional histories, and collecting practices.
