This project investigated the preparation, documentation, and archiving strategies used by feminist performance artists including Carolee Schneemann, Barbara T. Smith, and Marta Jovanovic. Particular areas of inquiry included to what extent the study of archival material influences art historical scholarship and interpretation, as well as how performance documentation strategies are changing in relation to new technologies and media.
