About
Goal
Pacific Standard Time Presents: Modern Architecture in L.A. was a collaborative celebration of one of Southern California's most lasting contributions to postwar cultural life: modern architecture. Similar to Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. 1945-1980 but smaller in scale, this initiative presented a wide-ranging look at the region's modern architectural heritage and the significant contributions of L.A. architects to national and global developments in architecture.
Outcomes
Nine exhibitions and related public programs throughout Southern California supported by Getty funding
A related exhibition at the Getty Center, Overdrive: LA Constructs the Future, 1940-1990
Five publications containing new research on postwar architecture in the region
Creation of SCI-Arc Online Media Archive: over 1,000 hours of continually-updated videos of lectures, symposia, events related to the most significant voices in architecture from 1974 to the present
