About
Goal
These fellowships advance the understanding of art history by enabling early-career scholars from around the world to develop substantial and original contributions to the field, including in technical and digital art history.
Outcomes
- Fellowships for 50 scholars from 2017 to 2022 that emphasize cross-disciplinary research, new modes of interpretation, and a significant impact on the larger field of art history
- Publication and dissemination (books, journals, and digital projects) of research findings through traditional and digital publications
- Annual multi-day seminar at the Getty Center for the fellows to present their research to one another
Project Details
NOTE: The Getty/ACLS program is not accepting applications in 2023 for the 2024-25 academic year. We are using this time to consult with the field and learn how we might shift the program to best meet the evolving needs of the global art history community.
