Goal
The Campus Heritage initiative improved the management and preservation of historically significant buildings and landscapes on college and university campuses in the United States.
Outcomes
- Detailed assessment and conservation plans for over 86 participating institutions
- Preservation plans produced through the initiative were made available on an interactive web portal hosted by SCUP (the Society for College and University Planners)
- Increased broad-based awareness of the need for preservation planning for college and university campuses and for integrating preservation planning into master planning
- Nationwide survey of challenges facing hundreds of independent colleges
- The first national conference on campus heritage preservation
