Getty presents Cupid’s Eros, a Valentine’s cabaret with mythological creatures performing songs of passion.

Directed by Matt Walker, the performances will take place at the Getty Villa on Friday, February 9, Saturday, February 10, and Sunday, February 11 at 7pm. Tickets are $35, and can be purchased online. Each performance will be followed with a glass of prosecco and a chocolate treat. The cabaret is co-produced by Troubadour Theater.

The masters of musical mirth are targeting the bullseye as emcees Cupid and Aphrodite host guests for an hour-long, family-friendly, song-filled sojourn with classic characters from antiquity; see Medusa & Perseus, Achilles & Patroclus, Prometheus and Fire, Pandora and her Box, Odysseus & Persephone, Polyphemus & Sheep and others, sing and dance for a chance at romance.

Classic love songs from the 70s and 80s will be performed from artists and musicals, including Billy Preston, Air Supply, Bonnie Tyler, Englebert Humperdinck, Pat Benatar, Queen, Chicago, and more.

“We’re so happy that our love affair with the Getty Villa audiences will continue in February at Cupid’s Eros! I can’t think of a more beautiful and romantic venue to celebrate Valentine’s Day,” says Matt Walker, artistic director of Troubadour Theater.

The cast includes Malynda Hale, Suzanne Jolie Narbonne, Heather Youmans, Cloie Wyatt Taylor, Rick Batalla, Philip McNiven, Jimmy Lambert, Isaac Robinson-Smith, and Matt Walker.

Cupid’s Eros is part of the Getty Villa Museum’s theater program, presenting reinterpretations of Greek and Roman classical plays through play readings, theater labs, premiere presentations, and the annual outdoor theater production.
