The J. Paul Getty Trust has appointed Kelly S. Moody as Vice President of Development and Institutional Advancement, where she will lead Getty’s fundraising and strategic partnership efforts to support its mission as a leading global art organization.

Moody brings more than 20 years of experience in fundraising, strategic partnerships, and institutional growth, with a strong record of securing transformational gifts and expanding philanthropic support globally for major cultural and educational organizations. A dedicated advocate for the visual arts, she has championed inclusive approaches to philanthropy and donor engagement, broadening participation and deepening impact across the nonprofit sector. At Getty, she will work closely with leadership to cultivate new philanthropic opportunities, strengthen donor networks, and enhance Getty’s role as a global leader in the arts.

“I am delighted to welcome Kelly to Getty,” said Katherine E. Fleming, President and CEO of Getty. “Her deep experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic partnerships will be invaluable as we expand Getty’s philanthropic reach and strengthen our ability to share art and cultural heritage with the world.”

Prior to joining Getty, Moody led a consulting firm advising nonprofit organizations on fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and institutional advancement. As Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Teachers College, Columbia University, she oversaw major fundraising efforts, achieving a 71% increase in philanthropic support and securing $41 million in FY23. She has also held leadership roles at the International Rescue Committee, New York University, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and Baruch College/CUNY, consistently exceeding fundraising goals and driving strategic growth.

Moody holds a Master’s degree in Art History and Archaeology from New York University and has pursued doctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania.

“I am honored to join Getty and excited to bring my passion for the visual arts and cultural heritage to Getty,” Moody said. “For me, the visual arts are not only a repository of history and culture but also an active force for fostering inclusivity, understanding, and connection. I look forward to working with the Getty team and its supporters to expand philanthropic partnerships and advance Getty’s important global work.”

Moody will begin her new role on March 31, 2025.
