Have you ever gone to an art museum and been inspired by a muse’s mane or a sitter’s springy curls?

That was the case for Becoming Artsy host Jessie Hendricks. When wandering the Getty galleries, Jessie admired portraits and landscapes and... multiple hairstyles that would be perfect for summer. She decided to let art imitate life and hired Yolanda Toussieng, hairstylist to the stars, to create three separate looks for her. While Toussieng styled Jessie’s hair into surprising coiffures, she spilled the tea on her life as a Hollywood hairstylist: notably, she was the first hairdresser to win an Oscar (for Mrs. Doubtfire in 1994).

In the video below, watch these styles come to life and learn about the artworks that inspired them. And check out this Getty article if you want to see more art-inspired hair trends (and accessories)!
