Selected Photographs

Solomon Lytle Hernandez is a photographer and filmmaker from Los Angeles, California. He began his photography journey in 2021 by signing up for the Intro to Photography class in his high school. At first, he was looking for an easy “A” but soon fell in love with the craft and co-founded the JSJ Photo Collective with two of his friends. Their collaboration began with capturing the stories of street vendors in Koreatown. In 2022, KCRW’s Young Creators Project spotlighted the JSJ Photo Collective’s Koreatown series, writing that the JSJ Photo Collective’s photographs “not only tell stories of subjects that often go untold, but they also act as icebreakers to meaningful conversations about community and belonging.” Solomon specializes in portraiture, street scenes, and sports photography. Inspired by Diane Arbus, his work challenges social norms and restrictions.
