Chloe Bauer (b. 2005) is a contemporary Los Angeles-based photographer, filmmaker, and visual artist experimenting with painting, collage, sculpture, drawing, and installation. Bauer has been drawing since she could hold a crayon and collaging since her mother left her alone with a few sheets of stamps at age four. She began making experimental films in 2021, and now considers film her main artistic medium. The human experience is her main source of inspiration for her creative endeavors. Bauer uses her art to tell stories, speak her mind, and poke the bear. Her art ranges in theme from political stances on gun violence and women’s rights, to more conceptual ideas raising the questions: “Whose side of the story is being told, and who is being oppressed?” “What kind of people does our society value, and who is forgotten about?” “How do we perceive the life around us?”
