Note: Great temple that was located in the city of el-Amarna, Egypt, as main temple of worship of Aten during the reign of the 18th-dynasty Pharaoh Akhenaten (ca. 1353-1336 BCE). Was made in haste, primarily of mud brick; lay along an east-west axis beside the Nile. Was destroyed after the death of Akhenaten.
