Note: Considered to be Francisco Oller y Cestero's masterpiece. This large scale painting represents a wake of a young child. It depicts the funerary custom of "velorio del angelito," a festive wake which was held after the death of young children, who were thought to go straight to heaven and become an angels due to their innocence.
