Note: Since 1949 the bronze sculpture group “The Gates of Hell” by Auguste Rodin has adorned the facade of the Zurich Kunsthaus. The 8-ton and almost 7-meter high Gate was created by the French sculptor Rodin between 1880 and 1917; it is one of 8 existing casts, comprising 186 figures from Dante’s Inferno. “The Gates of Hell” was restored in 2006.
