Note: The Brewster Codex is an album documenting Sir David Brewster's passionate interest in photography during the 19th century. A leather-bound volume of eighty-three folios, the codex consists of 190 mounted prints plus 8 drawings. Its contents comprise of extensive photographic series by William Henry Fox Talbot and his principle disciples at St Andrews, in addition to other early practitioners of photography. | |
