Note: Titles from: Ill. Bartsch; At the end of his career, Orazio Borgianni etched a suite of 52 prints after the frescoes painted by Raphael's workshop in the Vatican Logge; The nine prints from the suite after Raphael are dated, numbered and inscribed with the monogram of the etcher, with the exception of the print of Joseph telling his dreams to his brothers, which is not numbered. The etching of the Last Supper is also inscribed with Raphael's name: RAPHA VRBI INVEN / HB / 1615; Contents: Creation of heaven and earth; Adam and Eve after the Fall; Deluge; Noah leaving the ark after the deluge; Isaac grants a second benediction at the entreaty of Esau; Joseph telling his dreams to his brothers; Solomon anointed King of Israel by the high priest Sadoc; Building of Solomon's temple in Jerusalem; Last Supper; Forms part of the Leo Steinberg collection of prints (Special Collections accn. no. 2000.PR.16); Drawing in red chalk of three figures on verso of the Building of Solomon's temple in Jerusalem (no. 47). | |
