Marchionis Camilli de Maximis; Printmaker active in Rome; The print shows a triumphal arch commissioned by Marchese Camillo Massimo in honor of Pope Pius VI, who was elected on 15 February 1775; The neoclassical triumphal arch, designed by the architect Benedetto Piernicoli, is shown in a bare mountainous landscape. Semi-circular temporary stands have been erected for spectators to sit in front of the arch; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no. P910002**).
