Note: Michelangelo de Blasio was active in Naples as a decorator and designed ephemeral monuments, such as fireworks machines and Cuccagna monuments. The etcher Antonio Baldi belonged to the Baldi family of Naples which included painters and scenographers; The print shows the monumental Baroque catafalque designed for the funerals of Duchess Paola Odescalchi (or Odescalco) of Gravina, held in the Chiesa dei Girolamini, Naples in September 1742; Impressions of the etching were issued with the funeral book of Giambattista Botti: Nel funerale per l'illustrissima, ed eccellentissima signora d. Paola Odescalco ... (In Napoli : Nella stamperia di Stefano Abbate ..., 1742). Library has another impression of the etching bound with: Giambattista Botti.
