Delin: et Scolp; Flemish printmaker, painter and architect, who was active in Antwerp, Mantua, and Vienna; The print depicts the auditorium of the Comödihauss auf der Cortina built in Vienna for the 1668 performance of Pietro Antonio Cesti's opera Il pomo d'oro, held in celebration of the wedding of Holy Roman emperor Leopold I to the Infanta Margarita Teresa of Spain; The imperial couple is seated, with other members of the audience, in the theater designed by Ludovico Burnacini, architect and engineer to the emperor. The ceiling painted by Frans Geffels is rendered in detail; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no. P910002**); Glued to disbound album leaf that is annotated in brown ink on verso: 79 / 49 / Baldassare Peruzzi / ... / Sanese fu disposto dalla / natura ad essere Pittore, ed Architetto, ... / Abecedario; Library has another impression of the etching bound in: Jl pomo d'oro (In Vienna d'Austria : Appresso Matteo Cosmerovio, stampatore della corte, l'anno 1668).
