Clifford, Charles (English photographer, ca. 1800- 1863, active in Spain)

Note: Clifford photographed in Spain in 1851, settled in Madrid, and became the court photographer of Queen Isabel. He was responsible for documenting royal trips and the Queen's political life. Clifford documented the architecture of Spain and the treasures of the Prado. In 1856, he became a member of the Société française de photographie. In 1858, Clifford documented the construction of Madrid's water supply. He was associated with the Architectural Photographic Association.
