Note: Describes 8mm film of better quality and larger frame size than the standard, which it has now largely replaced. Introduced in 1965, it has mostly been used in education, marketing, industrial training and home movies, both as an original camera film and as a reduction print from 16mm originals.

| Dutch ..... Beschrijft 8-millimeterfilm met een betere kwaliteit en een grotere beeldgrootte dan standaard 8-millimeter, dat nu vrijwel geheel is verdrongen. Super 8 werd in 1965 geïntroduceerd en werd hoofdzakelijk gebruikt in het onderwijs en voor marketing, bedrijfsopleidingen en thuisgebruik, in de vorm van oorspronkelijke opnamen of tot 8 millimeter verkleinde 16-mm-originelen. |
