|
Note: Beds having dome-shaped testers supported by rods, often of iron, curving up from the corners of the head boards, with the rods being hidden by the bed hangings. Developed in the 18th century, such beds were often meant to stand in a deep niche in the bedroom of the main apartment of a palace or mansion. In other installations, the bed are often placed with one side lengthwise flush against a wall.

| Dutch ..... Bedden die overdwars tegen de muur staan en een koepelvormig baldakijn hebben dat wordt ondersteund door ijzeren roedes die vanaf de hoeken van het hoofdeinde omhoog buigen. De roedes zijn niet zichtbaar door de bedbekleding. |
| Spanish ..... Camas que se colocan de costado contra la pared y tienen pabellones con forma de cúpula apoyados sobre barras de hierro que se curvan hacia arriba desde las esquinas de los tableros de la cabecera, las barras están ocultas por las colgaduras de la cama. |
