Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een stijl die zijn naam ontleent aan de boeddhistische tempel van Bayon, een centrale tempel die is gebouwd door Jayavarman VII (1181-1220 n. Chr.) in de hoofdstad Angkor Thom. De stijl wordt gekenmerkt door brede galerijruimten, centrale heiligdommen volgens een cirkelvormig grondplan met daaromheen een krans van kapellen, en boven op de heiligdommen geplaatste torens die zijn versierd met beeldgesneden, grote gezichten. De stijl ontstond vanuit een intense geloofsbeleving en de spirituele plicht om een centrale ontmoetings- en rustplaats te creëren voor de goden, waar zij hun hemelse ceremonieën konden uitvoeren. 
Spanish ..... Se refiere a un estilo denominado por el Templo budista de Bayon, un templo central construido por Jayavarman VII (1181-1220 DC) en la capital Angkor. El estilo se caracteriza por galerías de espacios anchos, santuarios centrales en una base de diseño redondo rodeado por una serie de capillas y las torres situadas en la parte superior de los santuarios adornados con caras a gran escala talladas. El estilo está inspirado por un ferviente sentimiento religioso y deberes espirituales para proveer un punto de encuentro y de descanso central para que los dioses dirijan las ceremonias celestiales.
