A place for families with children of all ages to discover a world of wonders, delights, and hands-on activities. Come learn about art together—make a mask, create a sculpture, hunt for art treasures, and more.
Located in the Museum Courtyard near the East Pavilion.

Artful Activities
There's a lot for families to see and do together! The Family Fun at the Getty brochure, available at the Museum Information Desk and the Family Cart, offers ideas, tips, and clues to make your family's visit an adventure. All family materials and activities are free and most are offered in English and Spanish.

Art Detective Cards
Find the art and solve the mystery with these cards designed for your family to use while exploring the galleries, garden, and architecture. Cards are available outside the Family Room and at the Family Cart, in English and Spanish.
Family Art Stops
Get up close and personal with a single work of art at this half-hour, hands-on gallery experience geared for families with children ages 5 and up. Space is limited. Sign up at the Museum Information Desk beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday (fall, winter, spring): 2:00 and 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday–Friday (summer): 2:00 and 2:30 p.m.

 Designed for families to enjoy together, the GettyGuide Family Tour makes art come alive for kids. Hear stories, music, and sounds inspired by 19 objects in the collection. Rent a GettyGuide audio player for $5 at the Pick-Up Desk in the Museum Entrance Hall.

Seasonal Programs
Family Art Lab, Art Adventures for Families, Family Festivals, Family Drawing Hour, and Garden Concerts for Kids are just some of the special programs held throughout the year to engage the entire family. Visiting Tips
Look for the people in blue vests to answer your questions and provide directions. They'll help you find the Central Garden's zigzag pathway, where more than 300 types of plants await your discovery; or the Children's Bookstore, which offers fun books, gadgets, and gizmos related to the Getty Collection, located on the plaza level of the South Pavilion.

Eats and Treats
Bring your children to the Cafe for pizza, grilled cheese, and peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches; relax outdoors at the Garden Terrace Cafe; or purchase drinks, hot dogs, and snacks at several on-site food carts. Order family-friendly picnic boxes to enjoy in the Central Garden or the Getty's public seating areas.

Bring your own lunch and enjoy a picnic on the lawn adjacent to the Central Garden or at any of the Getty Center's public seating areas. Picnic tables and lawns for lounging are located at the Lower Tram Station (T1). The picnic area is open every day until 30 minutes before the Museum closes.
Baby bottles are allowed in the galleries; no other food or beverages are permitted.

Strollers and Wheelchairs
Standard strollers and wheelchairs are available at the Lower Tram Station (T1) and at the coat check desk in the Museum Entrance Hall. Please note that child-carrying backpacks are not allowed in the galleries.

Family Restroom
A family restroom, equipped with a private nursing area and a unisex stall (in which you can assist a companion), is located in the South Pavilion. All Getty Center public restrooms have diaper-changing tables.

Art Detective Cards
Find the art and solve the mystery with these cards designed for your family to enjoy while exploring the galleries, gardens, and architecture of the Getty Villa. Available in the Entry Pavilion, Information Desk in the Museum, or Family Forum in English and Spanish.
Art Odyssey for Families
This 45-minute journey through the galleries features a fun, activity-filled visit for children (ages 5 and up) and adults to enjoy together. Space is limited. Sign up at the tour Meeting Place outside the Auditorium beginning at 1:45 p.m.
Thursday and Friday (summer): 12:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday (year-round): 2:00 p.m.
