No.

If tickets are sold out, will there be a waiting list?
No.

How early can I arrive?
There will be no admittance to the site until after 7:00 p.m. This will be strictly enforced, as the Getty must follow certain regulations mandated by the City of Los Angeles.

Is there assigned seating?
No. Tickets are all general admission seating, and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating will begin approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance.

How long is the performance?
Approximately 90 minutes, without an intermission.

Will you have listening devices available?
Yes, assisted listening devices are available upon request. Please ask an usher for one before you select a seat.

Do I need a separate parking reservation for the performance?
No. Separate parking reservations are not necessary, and the usual parking fee has been waived with your purchase of a ticket.

Can I bring my own food and drink or a picnic basket?
No. Visitors will not be permitted to enter the site with their own food, beverages, or alcohol. All bags may be subject to security inspection, and backpacks and bags larger than 11 x 17 x 8 inches must be checked at the coat check in the Entry Pavilion.

Can I get something to eat before the performance?
For your convenience, we recommend using our pre-paid dining options, described on the shuttle reservation and box dinner form (PDF, 79 KB).

There will also be express food service options available: light dinner fare, soft drinks, and a selection of wine and beer as well as Espresso Cart concessions available for purchase before the performance begins.

Yes, the Museum Store will be open before the performance from 7:00 to 7:45 p.m.

Will there be heaters? Can I bring my own blanket?
We will not have heaters in the outdoor classical theater; we encourage visitors to bring a sweater or a blanket.

Can I bring my own portable stadium chair or seat cushion?
No. However, each seat will have a cushion provided.

Can I come to the Museum earlier in the day?
Yes. However, you must have a separate general admission ticket to the Villa, which is subject to availability. Also, galleries are closed between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Will the J. Paul Getty Museum be open?
There is an exhibition related to the performance, Enduring Myth: The Tragedy of Hippolytos and Phaidra. Thus, visitors are encouraged to explore the galleries from 7:00 to 7:45 p.m., before the performance.
