Friday October 24, 2008
7:30 pm
Harold M. Williams Auditorium, Getty Center
With a slightly funky perspective on vintage American blues, the Devil Makes Three is a breath of fresh musical air. The critically acclaimed trio of Pete Bernhard (vocals, guitar), Cooper McBean (guitar, banjo, vocals), and Lucia Turino (upright base) combines ragtime, country, folk, and rockabilly into contagious rhythms and three-part harmonies in a "jug-band-meets-punk-band" approach that has attracted a passionate following.
