J. Paul Getty Trust Issues Statement in Response to Security Threat on March 2, 2006

March 3, 2006

LOS ANGELES—After receiving a threat yesterday, the Security team informed local law enforcement authorities and initiated standard procedures for resolving this type of situation.  When an unidentified package was found last evening, which apparently was simply misplaced, the police department asked that the site be evacuated.  The evacuation took place about 8:30 p.m., guests attending a concert left in an orderly manner, and the all clear was given at 10:15 p.m.
