Join us on Sunday, February 11, for a full afternoon exploring the work and impact of Caravaggio during the Getty's special presentation of Caravaggio: Masterpieces from the Galleria Borghese.

The program begins at 2:00 p.m. with a talk by distinguished art historian Michael Fried, author of The Moment of Caravaggio and After Caravaggio. Fried, who is professor emeritus of humanities at Johns Hopkins University, takes off from each of the three great paintings on loan to the Getty Museum from the Galleria Borghese in Rome to provide an overview of Caravaggio's remarkable, world-transforming achievement.

At 4:00 p.m. award-winning author Francine Prose, whose books include Caravaggio: Painter of Miracles, convenes a panel, "Caravaggio Now," exploring the painter's lasting influence in literature and film. The panel includes Michael Cunningham, author of The Hours, and painter Carl Dobsky.
