Decorative Arts Lessons: Fancy Clocks and Furniture!

Find Lessons

In these lessons for the K–5 classroom, students find inspiration in tables and clocks from the 18th century and create their own versions of these objects.

Students in grades K–2 identify the colors and animals in a decorative clock, and practice telling time. Students in grades 3–5 learn about the form and function of a table made hundreds of years ago.

These lessons are part of an existing resource Looking at French Decorative Arts: Lessons and Ideas for Discussion.
