Water Jar / Eagle Painter

The Villa Summer Institute helps teachers make connections between interdisciplinary themes and the antiquities, gardens, and architecture of the Getty Villa.

This three-day program introduces K–12 classroom teachers to the rich resources offered at the Villa. They learn about the ancient Greek, Roman, and Etruscan worlds through the lens of the Museum's collection and site, exploring intersections of art, architecture, history, math, botany, and other subjects through gallery investigations, site tours, discussions, lectures, and hands-on art activities. Through collaboration and professional exchange, teachers are guided to develop their own lessons for the classroom that may be posted on this website.
