Above and Beyond

By Naomy Escobar

I used one point perspective that I was taught in my art class. On the acetate, I drew the world from an ant's point of view. The ant's point of view is where all lines connect onto the horizon line which leads to its vanishing point. In this case, I chose the view of buildings which meet in the sky. I chose seashells which represent how much I go to the beach. The clouds carry the names of my friends who are constantly on my mind. The grass symbolizes my earthy attitude as a vegetarian. The flowers represent a truce--it was given to me by my friend who jokingly tried to throw me off the Getty building's roof. At the end of the day me and my friend became really close with each other.
