Times New RomanHi All, I first 'tested' out my pond keeping ability with a very large terra cotta planter (complete with cork in the bottom to hold in the water) filled with pond plants and goldfish for a few years, before I achieved my dream of a 1500 gallon pond. The small planter pond sat in my side garden, where I fed the goldfish while I drank my coffee each morning. It was a very satisfying pond and best of all, it was low upkeep and didn't need a filter. As much as I love my big pond full of koi and water plants, it requires DAILY upkeep (frequent backwashing of the filter, etc.) and observation. After all, it's a biosphere of glorious life and I am now it's keeper. To those who may wonder what ponds have to do with art, ponds are the epitome of the artful process; always creative, changing and bringing joy through the process and product. -Alix Peshette Sacramento, CA ---
