My primary students never trace and I love to watch them draw. They each
have their own process. I am so proud of every piece of art they create
and they are equally as proud. I have never had a primary student ask to
trace anything. They are busy thinking about what they are going to draw
or paint or sculpt. All of my students shine without tracing.

I have only one exception. I have a visually challenged student who uses
wikki stix to draw. She uses the wikki stix to create her picture then she
traces them. Sometimes she traces cardboard shapes.
