The Getty Conservation Institute convened the Archaeology and Conservation Education Roundtable February 13–14, 2017 at the Getty Villa and Getty Center. Participants in this two-day meeting included educators in conservation and archaeology from five universities in the United States and the United Kingdom, where both fields are taught, along with representatives of US professional organizations in conservation and archaeology.

The meeting participants identified ways to improve practice in both fields, to better integrate activities of professionals in conservation and archaeology through curriculum reform and training, and put forward summary recommendations to achieve these.
