The third phase of the project will be development of a proof-of-concept model of the data integration software application that demonstrates the ways in which a comprehensive system could be achieved.

The proof-of-concept model will provide a tangible means of communicating the advantages of such a tool, attract additional outside funding for further development, and begin to seed a community of users.

The software tool will be developed using an open-source model (code is open and available to freely use and customize), and the data structure will be designed to facilitate the publication of open and linked data, a model utilized by the Arches Project.
