Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, 1959, New York. Like many modernist buildings, the Guggenheim was experimental in its design and use of materials. When this photo was taken in 1999, the structure was showing signs of age. It subsequently underwent a major conservation treatment, which was completed in 2008. Photo: 1999. © 2012, Scott Gilchrist.
