Note: Part of a larger series also titled "Native Hosts," this particular installation was installed outdoors in Claremont, California. Consisting of a steel panel modeled off of roadsigns and historic markers, the work references the past and continued existence of the Tongva, a Native North American tribe from Los Angeles county. "Torojoatngna" refers to an historic Tongvan village located in Claremont. Nineteen other signs were made and placed by Heap of Birds across Claremont, primarily around Pitzer College, referencing Tongvan locations.
