Inscriptions: The back wall contains engravings of McKinley’s two daughters names, who are buried within the memorial, Katherine McKinley and Ida McKinley. Inside the memorial is engraved a quotation from his last speech before assassination that runs along the bottom of the dome “Let us ever remember that out interest is in concord not in conflict and that our real eminence rests in the victories of peace not those of war.”
