Pavilion of Purple Radiance (assembly hall; various architects and artists; restored grandly under the M...; restored beginning 1760)
Note: A hall located just west of the Forbidden City. Was an existing pavilion originally used for parades, archery review, etc., which was restored in 1760 to be used as a center for the glorification of military triumphs. Court painters decorated the interior with portraits of 100 meritorious officials, some of which include eulogies by the emperor himself. Also decorating the hall were depictions of great battle victories and triumphal feasts.
